Today, Bugatti officially unveiled the Bolide, a racefocused supercar that boasts an unprecedented weighttopower ratio of just 0.67kg per horse.
The Bugatti Bolide is experimental at least for now. Developed by the manufacturer to see what a radically light vehicle would look like built around its iconic 8.0liter W16 engine.
Designed as a testament to Bugatti’s absolute powerhouse, the Bolled combines the Chironderived W16 power plant, with a minimal body for maximum downforce.
The top speed of the Pulley is well above 310 mph, and it takes 0 to 186 mph 7.37 seconds
In this model, the heavily modified W16 engine produces 1,850 hp and 1,850 Nm (1,364 lb ft) of peak torque.
Bold’s dry weight factor of only 1,240 kg (2,733 lb) ranks it on par with a Formula 1 car in performance.
To make a Bold supercar at lightning speed, Bugatti used titanium stabilizers, thinwalled functional components made of titanium alloy, ceramic brakes and coatings, and of course a lot of monocrystalline carbon fibers and a number of other components.
According to a Bugatti simulation, Boldd accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h (062 mph) in 2.17 seconds.
0 to 200 km / h (0124 mph) in 4.36 seconds.
And 0 to 300 km / h (0186 mph) in 7.37 seconds.
And 0 to 400 km / h (0248 mph) in 12.08 seconds.
And 0 to 500 km / h (0310 mph) in 20.16 seconds.
Bugatti also says that Bolide will need only 3: 07.1 minutes to complete a course at Le Mans’ Circuit de la Sarthe, and 5: 23.1 minutes to tour the Nürburgring.
When driving at slow speeds, the surface of the vehicle remains smooth. However, at high speeds, a field of bubbles inflates, reducing aerodynamic drag by 10 percent and ensuring that lift forces are reduced by 17 percent.
At 320 km / h (199 mph), downforce is 1,800 kg (3,968 lb) in the rear spoiler, and 800 kg (1,764 lb) in the front spoiler.
Bugatti Board Member and Head of Technical Development for Bold, Stephan Ellrott, said: “This vehicle is designed around the W16 powertrain with minimal body structure and incredible performance data. The result: the smallest possible bodywork for an impressive performance car.
Does this mean that we will see Pauled enter a limited production chain? According to Bugatti, this has not yet been determined.
