The head of the Committee for the Affairs of Prisoners and Missing Persons at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rabih Al-Adasani, said that determining the fate of the dead came through the process of identification by genetic analysis of the DNA after their remains were brought from Iraq.

Al-Adsani added in a press statement that the seven dead were Meshaal al-Khulaifi, Barjis al-Khalidi, Salem, Khaled al-Dossari, Walid al-Jeeran, Munthir al-Saif and Hussein al-Qabandi.

He explained that these prisoners were arrested during the Saddam regime’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990

Al-Adsani pointed out that “intense efforts during the last period have led to information related to two burial sites in Iraq.”

Last September, the Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad received from the Iraqi government the remains of 21 missing persons, believed to be Kuwaiti prisoners, and then transferred to Kuwait via a private plane.
