Qatar issues a statement on the attack in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Where the Qatari Foreign Ministry condemned in the strongest terms, the attack that took place yesterday, Wednesday, inside a cemetery for non-Muslims in Saudi Arabia, with an explosive device, and targeted a party attended by representatives of Western embassies in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The text of the Qatari Foreign Ministry’s statement reads: “The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that occurred while the French Consul in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was attending an event in the city of Jeddah, which led to the fall of two wounded.”

The ministry renewed “the firm position of the State of Qatar against violence, terrorism and criminal acts, regardless of the motives and causes.”

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Saudi authorities announced that two people were injured in an explosive device attack targeting participants in a ceremony that took place at a non-Muslims cemetery in Jeddah to commemorate the end of the First World War.

As a result of the attack, a Greek consulate employee and a Saudi security man were slightly injured.
