The World – Tunisia
Yesterday, Monday, the Tunisian Ministry of Health said that the number of new infections with the Coronavirus has reached a record level, reaching 3074, amid great concerns, with the intensive care departments in most public hospitals reaching their maximum capacity and the absence of a close timetable for the start of vaccination.
Many Tunisians do not hide their concern about the rapid spread of the infection and the slow movement of the authorities, amid demands for a general or partial closure to stop the spread of the epidemic in the country.
Officials said the health situation was very critical and all options were available.
For months, Tunisia has imposed a night-time curfew and has banned travel between states, but decisions are not adequately respected.
So far, the official date for the start of the vaccination campaign in Tunisia is not known, which reinforces fears that the country will not be able to deal with the epidemic.
